STORIES OF AMAZING RECOVERIES

My husband was in a motorcycle accident without a helmet. He has severe brain damage to the frontal lobes. The doctors told me he would not make it through the night. He was in a coma for 2 ˝ months, and on life support for 3 weeks. He has made a great recovery. He was in a rehab facility from July 2003 until March 2004. I now have him at home with me. I am his only caregiver, we own a café together and I work 7 days a week. I have to take him to work with me and it is very hard on him.

I originally put him in a nursing/rehab facility, but they called me after 2 days and told me to come pick him up, that they could not handle his mood swings. His mood varies from crying to severe agitation. I am trying to get him into a rehab facility to help him walk again and to fix his right hand, it is drawn too.

My insurance company keeps refusing to help because he has had his first anniversary since the accident and they think that is as far as he can go mentally and physically. I know this is not true, because I know my husband's strength and his belief that God will heal him. With that said, I need to find a good place to take him to get him help. We live in Texas, anyone knowing a place in Texas or a nearby state that offers good help, please contact me. May God Bless each and everyone of you that is going through something like this. David and I have just celebrated our 4th anniversary together and I hope to celebrate many more with him.

Thanks, Sissy
