STORIES OF AMAZING RECOVERIES

I am writing this for my husband, Ron. He suffered a TBI on September 14, 1997. He was involved in a motorcycle accident. He was comatose for six weeks. He is just now able to speak fairly clearly. He cannot walk. He lost the part of the brain that controls balance. He is in a wheelchair. He had double vision for the first six years. It is now gone. He has limited use of his hands and arms, as he has spastic movements. He is with a certified nurse's aid during the day when I work. He is now 50 years old and was only 43 at the time of the accident. He is depressed a lot, as he is very limited in what he can do. He used to be very active.

However the good news is, the doctors did not expect him to live. He can now enjoy the grandchildren that are coming into the world, as he would not have this opportunity, if he would have died.

I am his wife and have written a book about our experience since disability entered our marriage.
