Stories of Amazing Recoveries from Brain Injury
My name is Kenneth Calhoun, I am 46 years old. Back on January 2, 1991 I had a brain aneurysm while at work. I was in a coma for 3 weeks. The doctors gave me zero percent chance of living. They told my parents, that, even if I did live, I would be brain dead for the rest of my life. While in my coma for 3 weeks I got pneumonia. The doctor's had to give me a tracheotomy. But anyway I'm alive and doing well. I own my own 3 bedroom house in Santa Fe, Texas. I have been rehabilitated, I mop, I vacuum and dust. I even drive my own van. I come and go as I please. I am still paralyzed on my left side, but I won't let that stop me. I can't. I have the Texas Rehabilitation Commission looking for a job for me. I'm ready to go back to work. I've been a workaholic all my life. I won't let the wheelchair stop me. Have a great day and God Bless.
