On February 2nd of 2001 my parked car that was on the side of the nys thruway was driven over by a tractor trailer. I took a direct hit to my head from the truck at the excessive speed of 70 to 80 miles per hour. At the trauma center and by a specialist I was informed that I had a severe brain injury. After 5 years of consistent doctor visits to a neuropsychcologist I have been informed that there is an expecting future of early pre-senile dementia than most of the general population. I have also been on medications to help me to stay focused and to keep me from excessive daytime sleepiness. Please send me any information that you possible can on what my future has in store for me. I am a 45 year old divorced mother of 4 and grandmother of 5, I really need to know what is to be expected, what is going to happen to me as I get older. Will I be able to watch my grandchildren grow up and still recognize them by the time I am 60. Thank you Michele.
