STORIES OF AMAZING RECOVERIES

I was on a charity ride for a family that lost the father and 2 children on July 15 2006. On the way to pick up my truck so I could pick up my daughter when I wreck on a motorcycle. I still don't know exactly why it happened but thankfully I was riding alone, and the only one involved in the accident.

I was life flighted to UPMC Presbry where they were calling for my next of kin. 28 days later I came out of my coma but it was another week and a half before I remember anything. I spent another 3 weeks in rehab before they let me go home.

I still go to rehab twice a week and have many appointments in the future. But Im thankful to be alive for my daughter, and I'm sure that I'll make a full recovery and be back to work again. I just have to be patient, and it'll all work out. They said my injuries are consistant with shaken baby syndrome and a helmet wouldnt have made a big difference.

I'm very grateful for the paramedics, EMTs, and all the doctors that kept me around. No matter how grim things may look, I know it beats the alternative.
