Long Term Outcome Following Mild TBI

Patients, on an average of 8 years post TBI, most in the mild range, were given follow-up neuropsychological testing and compared with normals who were in motor vehicle accident without TBI. Those who suffered the mild TBI continued, an average of 8 years later, to have problems with aspects of attention and working memory. The study’s conclusion was that it showed “that MTBI can have adverse long-term neuropsychological outcomes on subtle aspects of complex attention and working memory.”
